Ombudsperson for Gender Equality Višnja Ljubičić gave interview for Radio Dubrovnik and presented work in 2019: EU projects, survey about gender equality in youth handball, educational activities and participation in public law-making process. She emphasized that EU project regarding transforming the system for combating violence against women is in final phase. Also, activities within other EU project “Equal rights – Equal Pay – Equal Pensions” were 3 educational workshops in 3 cities (Osijek, Split, Rijeka), performance on the European Equal Pay Day: Money is a noun of masculine gender, two surveys with students from vocational high schools and managers from private and public sectors covering topics: knowledge and prejudice about gender pay and pension gap and work-life balance.
Also, Ombudsperson is partner on EU project „Parents@Work“, holder of the project is L&R Social Research – Institute for Social Research in Vienna and partner is Austrian Ombudsperson for Gender Equality.
Ombudsperson presented survey about gender equality among youth players in handball, sample was 600 persons.
Ombudsperson participated in public law-making process in following areas: Maternity and Parental Benefits Act, amendments and supplements to the Criminal Code and Law on Protection against Domestic Violence.
Conclusion is that Ombudsperson is satisfied with critical thinking related to gender equality in public area and complaints from citizens that are received and reviewed.
