Ombudsperson for gender equality in cooperation with CESI (Centre for Education, Counselling and Research) organized workshop „Equality for all“ in Split, in hotel Park, from 19-20 November 2019., activity within project “Equal rights – Equal Pay – Equal Pensions”. Aim of the education is to raise awareness abount gender pay and pension gap and achieve gender equality and combating poverty in Croatia. Topics during workshops were: project activities, issue of equal pay and pension; sex and gender; education and inequality at the labour market, balancing private and professional life. Institution from Belgium (Instituut voor de gelijkheid van vrouwen en mannen) presented good practices in achieving equal pay and pension in Belgium.
Workshops were held by Anamarija Tkalčec (CESI-Centre for Education, Counselling and Research), Igor Knežević and Jasna A. Petrović (Retired Persons’ Trade Union of Croatia), Hildegard van Hove (Instituut voor de gelijkheid van vrouwen en mannen) and Sanda Brumen (Ombudsperson for Gender Equality). There were more than 40 participants from non-governmental associations (Bijeli Krug, Klub učenja, Mi, Bussines Women Club, Srednje godine, Domine, Ženska grupa Split, CESI), Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia, Retired Persons’ Trade Union of Croatia, Social Welfare Center Split, University of Split (Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Science, Health studies), School of economics, Technical School Zagreb, Center for education, City of Split, Commissions for Gender Equality in Split, Radio Dalmatia and Institute for Social Research in Zagreb.
Next workshop will be held in Rijeka (12-13 December 2019) and Osijek (23-24 January 2020).
