Delegation from Georgia, representatives from Ministry of Internal Affairs, Public prosecutor’s office, courts, ombudsperson’s institutions, non-governmental sector and Council of Europe, visited Ombudsperson for Gender Equality. Aim of the visit was presentation of antidiscrimination law and mechanisms for combating discrimination in Croatia. Ombudsperson for Gender Equality presented institutional mechanism for the advancement of gender equality in Croatia, Ombudsperson’s jurisdiction and EU projects, especially current ones: „Equal rights – Equal Pay – Equal Pensions“ and „Building more effective protection: transforming the system for combating violence against women“. There was discussion about gender based violence and The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention), violence against gender and sexual minorities, sexual harassment and complaints that Ombudsperson receive from citizens.
