Our mission is to systematically,\nlongitudinally and interdisciplinarily conduct socially\nsignificant, fundamental and applied scientific\nresearch on various aspects of Croatian society by using quantitative and qualitative\nmethods. Our research subjects include: social structures, urban\/rural\nsociology, youth, education, science, religion, sustainable development and gender\nand social inequalities. In 2012, ISRZ was presented with the European\nCommission\u2019s HR Excellence in Research Award.<br><br>The Institute\nconsists of four scientific research centres: Centre for Educational Research\nand Development (CERD), Centre for Research in Social Inequalities and\nSustainability (CRiSIS), Centre for Youth and Gender Studies (CYGS) and Urban\/Rural\nand Science Research Centre (URSRC).\nThe staff of the\nInstitute\u2019s Centre for Youth and Gender Studies (CYGS) have expertise in conducting\nqualitative and quantitative research on gender (in)equality, family and the changes\nin gender roles, motherhood, the quality of life, social inequalities, social\nstructure and the labour market. Over the last couple of years, they have\nworked on a number of projects researching gender inequality in the labour\nmarket and modes of reconciliation of professional and family life.
